I am delighted to share with you information about the following:
- Second annual "Acadia Arts/Culture/Good Eats' Jane's Walk for May 2013,
- South Calgary Artist Network (SCAN)
- The Acadia Community Garden
- My blog, “My View from Acadia”
- Calgary 2012 GIGYYC Grants for grassroots projects throughout the city
- Grants for grassroots projects in the community of Acadia
Details as follows:
1. Acadia Jane’s Walk - http://www.janeswalk.net/
1A. If you have any ideas for other arts/culture/good eats stops for the Jane's walk, please let me know. I would like to encourage anyone with any type of connection to Acadia (live/work/play/go to school/love of Acadia) to get involved in showcasing arts/culture/heritage/good food including performing (dance/sing/comedy/act/anything) along the way for walkers, displaying their visual/performance art etc.
1B If you would like to be a stop along the way, we would pop in for about 5 minutes (unless you wanted us for longer) and we would love to hear history about your business/organization or involvement in the community, why you are in Acadia, what your most popular or personal favorite Acadia Commuinty food/drinks/arts/culture/heriitage/history/stories and your favourite places to go in Acadia.
Please let me know if this is of interest and/or if we could put up advertising to get the word out about the Jane's walk (postcards or small poster).
If you would like to be included on the blog for the Suburban Calgary Artist Network (formerly known as the South Calgary Artist Network), please let me know. I could set it up as an interview, or you can just send me a blurb about you/your business/organization and/or your connection to the arts/culture/heritage in one of the suburbs of Calgary. We are a new network and our intent is to connect individual artists and groups of all abilities, ages and disciplines in the suburbs to help create awareness of the vibrant arts communities outside of downtown.
I have my own blog called My View from Acadia I would be happy to include info about your business and/or community involvement on it. One of my goals for being a volunteer with the Acadia Strong Neighbourhood Initiative to strengthen the connection between Acadia residents and our Acadia businesses.
